Burlington School District Superintendent Tom Flanagan, appointed in March 2020, is resuming his “Coffee with Tom” series for the 2025-2026 school year.
Flanagan’s sessions will occur monthly from September to May at the Skinny Pancake, 60 Lake Street, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The series offers district updates, opportunities for questions, and feedback, with coffee or tea provided. Attendees can join flexibly, online or in-person. Flanagan will be joined by a slate of rotating BSD leaders.
- The schedule, subject to change, begins September 26, with Kellie Klassen, Executive Director of Student Support Services.
- October 24 features Lauren Klaffky, Executive Director of School Leadership.
- November 21 includes Russ Elek, Communication Specialist.
- December 19 and
- January 23 has guests TBD.
- February 27 includes Nathan Lavery, Executive Director of Finance and Facilities, and Russ Elek, with Flanagan absent.
- March 27 features Stephanie Phillips, Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, and Katherine Grykien, Director of Curriculum.
- April 17 includes Sparks, Director of Equity.
- May 22 has a guest TBD.
Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak’s meet ups are continuing to rotate across Burlington’s four districts.
- The East District meet ups are set for September 26 and October 24, 2025, at the Fletcher Free Library, 235 College Street, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- The North District meet up is scheduled for October 2, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. at the Bagel Cafe, Ethan Allen Plaza, 1127 North Avenue.
- The Central District session will occur October 14, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the ONE Community Center, 20 Allen Street.
- The South End meet up is planned for October 15, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. at Zero Gravity, 716 Pine Street. Previous 2025 meet ups included August sessions at locations like Zero Gravity and the Fletcher Free Library.
