A Winooski man with 14 felony charges but no convictions has been arrested for a North Beach Campground office break-in.
On February 29 at 7 pm, officers with the Burlington Police Department responded to the North Beach Campground office building for a report of a possible burglary in progress.
Upon arrival, officers canvassed the area and located a male suspect later identified as Jeremy Sanders, 34, of Winooski. When officers spoke with Sanders, he admitted he was attempting to enter into the property. Dispatch advised officers Sanders had active court ordered conditions of a 24-hour curfew. Sanders was taken into custody for attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools, and Violation of Conditions of Release. Officers transported Sanders to the BPD for processing. After further investigation, Sanders was charged for a previous burglary incident that took place earlier in the day at the same building.
Sanders’ criminal history in Vermont includes 2 failures to appear, 9 violation of court orders or conditions charges with no convictions, 14 felony charges with no convictions, 27 misdemeanor charges with 4 convictions, 3 assaultive crime charges with 1 conviction, and 2 dangerous/deadly weapon related charges.
