The mayor of Vermont’s largest city is bemoaning being a woman in a man’s world.

Emma Mulvaney-Stanak posted a Facebook shot of “getting ready in the morning.”

“A good day to follow along in the life of the mayor,” Mulvaney-Stanak headlined a picture of her in the bathroom at 7:10 a.m., looking fully sullenfaced putting on makeup.

“First up getting ready for the day. Two media appearances today – morning radio and pre-taped in depth interview for major news channel,” the mayor posted.

“That requires a bit of eye shadow and extra attention to make up details for the big lights. Then figuring out an outfit that reads well on TV (no big patterns or super bright colors).

“One of the many things my male predecessors probably never had to give much thought to before they started their days.”
