Almost one week ago, 37-year-old Shaun Littlefield of Burlington drove his car onto a sidewalk at the intersection of South Winooski Avenue and Buell Street, striking a pedestrian, Callie Jenna Aceto, from behind, police say. Aceto will likely be paralyzed from the incident.

A 24 year-old graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, holding a BBA in General Business, Aceto works at both the Flynn and Lake Monster box offices. Before moving to Vermont, Aceto volunteered for the Fellowship Baptist Church, where she fed and baked for 150 kids, and led crafts and bible study.
Friends and family of Aceto have since set up a fundraising drive to help offset the expected massive cost of helping Aceto heal, as best possible, was the freighting incident.
Earlier this week, too, Littlefield was taken into custody and charged on suspicion of Grossly Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.
This, however, isn’t Littlefield’s first run into trouble. In 2015, Littlefield and accomplice Anthony Seagroves were arrested for burglarizing a home in St. George, just a couple days after the small community celebrated Christmas.
At that time, Littlefield was also charged by the Essex Police Department in connection to another larceny he had committed in the, then, Town of Essex.

Two years prior in 2013, Littlefield – 24 at the time – was charged with lewd and lascivious conduct with a child after Littlefield touched a 16-year-old girl by Emily’s Bridge in Stowe during a ghost-hunting trip.
Littlefield was ordered held on $15,000 bail, despite a request from Chittenden County State’s Attorney Sarah George that Littlefield be held without bail.
